What have we been up to?

"During the past 12 months Ringwood & Fordingbridge Lions have pledged over £10,000.00 in respect of charitable causes, projects and activities within the local community and abroad.
One of our main projects for the year was our pledge of £5,000.00 towards the costs of a new accommodation unit at Salisbury Hospital for parents of babies who need to spend time in their special baby care unit.
The club have been privileged enough to be able to help a number of local families meet the costs of necessary equipment to help improve the lives of their young children who are struggling with severe disabilities.
Over £1,100.00 has been donated to Lions Clubs International Foundation in respect of disaster projects abroad where importantly every penny is used to provide support to our Lions Clubs in the affected countries directly.
In March this year we hosted an afternoon tea party at Greyfriars Hall for the elderly members of the community with fantastic singing entertainment from BATS.
In July this year the club arranged a summer BBQ and activities at Matchams Go Karting and the Ski Centre at Hurn for 10 youngsters from Belarus staying locally with host families as part of the Chernobyl Lifeline Project.
2011 has certainly been busy for the club but the year is not yet finished and there is still much work to be done.
Thank you for your continued support".
