Charter 2010
The Lions Club of Ringwood and Fordingbridge welcomed their guests as they held their 40th Charter anniversary on Saturday 24 April 2010 at the Moorhill House Hotel in Burley. Eighty one revelers enjoyed a meal befitting the occasion at this beautiful traditional hotel set in the New Forest. Invited guests included the Mayor of Ringwood Councilor Christine Ford, the Mayor of Fordingbridge Councilor Malcolm Connolly and the District Governor of 105D Lion Judith Goodchild. Also present was Past Council Chairman Ken Riley who originally presented the club with its Charter as District Governor in 1970. Lion President Yorky Tuke said "We were very pleased to welcome Ken who, during the evening, responded to the Toast our Partners and Guests and then re-presented the Charter to commemorate 40 years of service to our community".
Presentations were made to the respective Mayors' chosen charities and the Air Ambulances appeal. After the meal and formalities were completed we danced into the night with Auld Lang Syne being sung at midnight.
